Since I cannot return it because I threw away the carton and it is too late -- I just returned from a 3 week trip -- I'll give it to my neighborhood...

Gramophone Player/Recorder
The machine itself looks very vintage and is a perfect replica of many of the gramophones that were used in the early 20th century. |

Came across some 8 Track recorders at an estate sale. I am hoping someone can give me some information on them. First, I have many blank tapes and also ones with recorded music on them. Can the...
A: I owned an 8 track recorder back in the '70s. If I remember right, there is a tab on the cassette somewhere that you pull off to prevent recording over. Look at the difference between pre-recorded...

A: If it works it should be worth around $25. If it doesn't work, perhaps $5. If it was older it would be more. See link.

I would like to keep and use it if the repair isn't too costly or extensive. Any ideas what is likely wrong with it? Machine is just totally unresponsive. Yes, it is plugged in. It is from the...
A: Lynn's answer above is pretty good; except you said it is "unresponsive", so I'm guessing even the power light isn't going on. That would eliminate most of Lynn's analysis.
