You may need to by a DSL filter, silencer thing for it.

The phone is very cute and suits it's purpose nicely but beware. If you are experiencing large amounts of crackles and whines (sounds sort of like fax machine noises) it probably needs a DSL filter/ silencer thing. It didn't cost very much and I was happy it fixed the problem. I like the phone very much now.

Everything about this purchase was great. Came earlier than expected, great price, phone works great, and my wife is happy. Couldn't get any better.
